Setfiles

What are Setfiles?​

Setfiles in MetaTrader are configuration files that store user-defined settings for expert advisors (EAs) or custom indicators. These files contain parameters such as input values, optimization settings, and other preferences specific to trading strategies.

How to create Setfiles​

To create a Setfile for your Kong bot, follow these instructions:

1. Open KongBot settings dialog​

You can either drag-and-drop the KongBot EA onto a chart (see Kong setup for instructions) or open the existing KongBot settings on an active chart (see updating Kong settings).

2. Save settings​

Once you have entered your settings, you can click the "Save" button.

Next, specify a location and name (in this example Kong) for your Setfile.

Finally click "Save".

How to load Setfiles​

If you want to load settings from a Setfile, simply click the "Load" button inside the "Inputs" tab:

Next, select your previously saved Setfile and click "Open":

You should now see the new settings applied.
