Update Athena
This guide will explain how to update your Athena bot to a newer version.
Apply the update​
During the update you will need to re-enter you license key and settings. Please make sure you have a backup of your settings.
Download new version​
Download the new version of Athena. See the Athena Download section.
Copy new file​
Now copy the new AthenaBot.ex5 file from the downloaded file.
Paste new file into Experts folder​
Return to your MetaTrader 5 and open the Data Folder.
Now paste the new Athena file into the Experts folder.
Note how the "old" version shows up in the "Experts" folder. We simply add our "new" version in here. You can also delete the "old" version, there is no harm in keeping it however.
Refresh MetaTrader 5 Experts list​
When you return to MetaTrader 5, you can refresh the Expert Advisors list. You should see the "new" version appear in the list.
Replace existing Athena on each chart​
Finally we need to replace the current Athena bot on each chart with the new version. You can simply drag-and-drop the new AthenaBot_v5 onto each existing chart, or highlight a chart and right click before selecting "Attach to Chart"
You will be prompted to confirm the action using the following dialog.
Confirm by clicking "OK".
Update inputs / settings​
You will now be asked to enter your desired settings. Make sure you enter the correct settings or use a Setfile with your saved settings.
Make sure the "Allow Algo Trading" checkbox in the "Common" tab is checked!
You have now applied the update to your MetaTrader 5 terminal.
